Artificial intelligence can help people organise information, improve digital services and identify potentially relevant connections more efficiently. It can also produce inaccurate results, overlook important context and create an appearance of authority that it does not possess.

These principles define the boundaries within which Flyntal approaches the use of artificial intelligence. They apply to AI-assisted activities carried out by Flyntal and to AI-supported platform functions that may be introduced as Flyntal develops.

They should be read together with Flyntal’s AI Transparency Statement, Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions and any additional information provided in connection with a specific platform function.

Human responsibility

Flyntal uses artificial intelligence as a supporting technology. Responsibility for material decisions remains with the individuals and organisations that are legally, professionally or operationally accountable for those decisions.

AI-generated content, analysis, recommendations, rankings or suggested matches do not replace professional judgement. They do not transfer responsibility to an AI system or to the provider of that system.

Where artificial intelligence contributes to work performed by Flyntal, Flyntal remains responsible for deciding whether and how the resulting information or material is used.

Where a decision affects professional access, verification, regulatory status, contractual engagement, aviation compliance or safety, meaningful human judgement remains essential.

No artificial verification

Artificial intelligence is not treated as proof of identity, competence, qualifications, regulatory status or organisational capability.

An AI-generated statement, summary, score, recommendation or classification does not independently establish that a professional holds a valid licence, aircraft type rating, maintenance authorisation, qualification, training record, security clearance, work authorisation or legal entitlement to perform aviation-related work.

The same principle applies to organisational approvals, regulatory permissions, facilities, operational capabilities, capacity, compliance status and authority to provide a particular aviation service.

Where verification is required, it must be based on appropriate records, evidence and the applicable verification process. An AI-generated conclusion does not replace that evidence.

A Flyntal profile, result, recommendation or suggested connection must not be interpreted as independent certification or regulatory approval by Flyntal unless this has been expressly confirmed through a separate and applicable verification process.

Aviation safety and compliance

Artificial intelligence does not replace aviation law, regulatory requirements, approved technical documentation, maintenance data, organisational procedures or the judgement of appropriately qualified and authorised professionals.

AI-supported information provided through Flyntal must not be interpreted as an operational instruction, maintenance release, certification decision, airworthiness determination or confirmation that a person or organisation is authorised to perform a specific aviation activity.

Where AI-supported information conflicts with applicable legislation, official regulatory information, approved documentation, verified records, organisational procedures or a decision made by an appropriately authorised person, the authoritative source takes precedence.

Artificial intelligence must not be used to bypass competence requirements, authorisation limitations, safety procedures, regulatory obligations or legally required professional judgement.

Flyntal supports the exchange and organisation of information. It does not replace the responsibility of operators, maintenance organisations, continuing airworthiness organisations, training organisations, employers, contracting parties, professionals or competent authorities.

Responsible matching and opportunity discovery

Flyntal may use automated or AI-supported functions to help identify potentially relevant professionals, organisations, capabilities, availability, opportunities or connections.

These functions are intended to support discovery and the organisation of information. A suggested match, ranking, recommendation or compatibility indication does not by itself constitute verification, endorsement, selection, employment, engagement, certification, approval or regulatory authorisation.

Flyntal does not rely on artificial intelligence alone to make a final decision concerning whether a professional or organisation is admitted, verified, selected, engaged or legally or technically authorised to perform aviation-related work.

Organisations remain responsible for assessing potential professionals, service providers and contractual partners. Professionals remain responsible for ensuring that the information they provide is accurate and for confirming that they hold all licences, authorisations, qualifications and permissions required for a particular activity.

Before making a materially new AI-supported platform function available, Flyntal considers its intended purpose, the information involved, its potential effect on users, the level of human oversight required and the applicable legal, privacy, transparency, confidentiality and security requirements.

Where appropriate, information concerning the purpose and limitations of a particular function will be provided within or alongside that function.

Fair and relevant use

AI-supported functions should use information that is relevant to their legitimate and stated purpose.

Flyntal does not accept the use of artificial intelligence to create artificial authority, make irrelevant assumptions about people or organisations or present an automated assessment as a verified fact.

AI-supported functions should not infer professional competence, suitability, trustworthiness or value from characteristics that are unrelated to the relevant aviation, professional or operational context.

Flyntal does not use artificial intelligence for social scoring, deceptive manipulation or emotion recognition in recruitment or workplace-related assessments.

Artificial intelligence must not be used to deliberately disadvantage, exclude or rank individuals on the basis of irrelevant personal characteristics.

Where an automated result is affected by incomplete or incorrect profile information, users should be able to correct the underlying information through the relevant platform process.

Privacy and confidentiality

The use of artificial intelligence does not reduce Flyntal’s responsibilities concerning data protection, confidentiality, data minimisation and information security.

Non-public user profiles, identification documents, licence records, security-clearance information, confidential organisational records and protected platform data are not submitted to unapproved publicly accessible generative AI services as part of ordinary content creation or development work.

Personal or non-public organisational information may only be used within an AI-supported platform function where the relevant purpose and use of that information have been considered and appropriate safeguards have been established.

Access to non-public information should remain limited to persons, systems and service providers that require it for an authorised purpose.

Where an AI-supported function involves the processing of personal data, the applicable information will be provided through Flyntal’s Privacy Policy or within the relevant platform function.

These principles do not independently establish a legal basis for processing personal data and do not replace Flyntal’s Privacy Policy.

Transparency and user understanding

Flyntal seeks to make the role of artificial intelligence understandable in the context in which it is used.

Where users interact directly with an AI system provided through Flyntal, the nature of that interaction will be identified unless it is already unmistakably apparent.

Where an AI-supported function materially contributes to a match, recommendation or other result affecting a user, Flyntal may provide contextual information explaining the purpose and relevant limitations of that function.

AI-generated or AI-manipulated content is disclosed where required by applicable law or where an additional notice is appropriate to prevent a misleading impression.

Flyntal’s current use of artificial intelligence and its approach to AI-generated written and visual material are explained separately in the AI Transparency Statement.

Transparency does not mean disclosing confidential information, security-sensitive information, protected intellectual property or technical details that could compromise the integrity of the platform.

Third-party AI services

Flyntal may use artificial intelligence systems and services supplied by third parties.

The commercial availability, reputation or widespread use of a service does not, by itself, establish that the service is suitable for every purpose or every category of information.

Flyntal determines whether and how a third-party AI service is used within its own activities. The use of an external provider does not transfer Flyntal’s responsibility for its own decisions or for the way in which the service is integrated and used.

Third-party AI services are not treated as independent authorities on aviation competence, regulatory status, organisational approval, compliance or safety.

Where a third-party AI service contributes to a material platform function, its intended purpose, relevant limitations, treatment of information, confidentiality, security and available human oversight are considered in relation to the intended use.

Accuracy and limitations

Artificial intelligence systems may generate inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, fabricated or contextually inappropriate results.

An output is not necessarily correct because it appears detailed, confident, technically sophisticated or professionally presented.

AI-supported information must be understood in the context of its intended purpose. Where reliance could have professional, contractual, regulatory, legal or safety-related consequences, the relevant information should be checked against appropriate and authoritative sources.

Flyntal does not guarantee that AI-assisted content or AI-supported functions will always be complete, error-free, uninterrupted or suitable for every possible purpose.

Users must not knowingly present an AI-supported result, Flyntal recommendation or suggested match as independent proof of competence, authorisation, verification or approval.

Questions or concerns relating to Flyntal’s use of artificial intelligence may be submitted to:

This includes concerns regarding misleading AI-generated content, inappropriate use of information, an inaccurate automated result, missing disclosure or an AI-supported function that appears inconsistent with these principles.

Reports should identify the relevant page, content, profile result or function and provide sufficient information to allow the concern to be understood.

Depending on the circumstances, Flyntal may clarify or correct information, provide additional context, adjust or restrict a function or remove affected content.

Review and status of these principles

Flyntal may update these principles as the platform, its use of artificial intelligence and the applicable legal framework develop.

A review may be carried out where a materially new AI-supported platform function is introduced, an existing use changes significantly or legal, regulatory or technical developments affect the accuracy or continued suitability of these principles.

These principles describe Flyntal’s general approach and the boundaries governing its use of artificial intelligence. They do not replace applicable law, Flyntal’s contractual terms, its Privacy Policy or specific information supplied in connection with an individual platform function.

Nothing in these principles limits any rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be limited.
